Lifestyle: #ScoutsHonour2014 Blog Event

I've been apart of the blogging community for quite some time now, and have had more blogs than hot dinners, quite frankly. For different reasons, i've somewhat abandoned my little online journals; something i regret hugely, so i'm determined to make Green Tea, Please one of my priorities.

Because i've been apart of the blogging community, i felt it was a great opportunity to accept an invite to the #Scoutshonour2014 North East bloggers event which was held at the Scout Vintage Clothing boutique in Sunderland. The retro inspired event was hosted by two lovely ladies, Kayleigh and Angela, and was a great chance to meet fellow bloggers, interested in the vintage fashion and design.

I  attended the local event with my friend, Dani, and was greeted with a glass of wine, cupcakes and popcorn, with some 80s classics playing in the background; Kenny Loggins, Frankie Goes to Hollywood and Madonna, coming at me - I was in my element! The atmosphere was very relaxed and informal, and the little boutique was quaint, with vintage/retro decor consisting of old posters of iconic popstars and unique paintings up the walls.

Both rooms in the boutique comprised of railings loaded with vintage dresses, skirts, shirts, trousers, the lot. A multitude of colourful bandanas lined the ceilings - there was a huge choice of unique fashions throughout the little shop. And Scout Vintage didn't just cater for us ladies; there were plenty of shirts and jackets for the retro lads too - i was very tempted to buy a gorgeous beige and orange men's fitted shirt, and a vintage Burberry jumper, but i had to refrain from doing so. Maybe it'll still be there next time i visit, then again maybe it won't; that's the beauty of vintage boutiques, you'll never see the same item of clothing twice, so it's a different experience each time you take a peak.

The talented ladies from Black Door Hair Salon created wonderful vintage up-dos for most of the bloggers; one blogger rocked a gorgeous Beehive with Pin Curls, whilst another sported a feminine Chain Link Plait. The beautiful, Tamzin Cummings, was make up artist at the event, and produced some retro-glam makeup looks; most bloggers opted for the classic red lip which was executed perfectly. Refreshments were provided by Holmeside Coffee, with bottles of tempting vanilla, chocolate and caramel iced coffees (and also played DJ at the event - bravo!). Being a bit of a cake fiend, i particularly enjoyed the cupcakes made by Serendipity Tea Room just up the road from Scout Vintage - if you're a fan of buttercream, i'd highly recommend these delicious cupcakes, i had to go back for more, of course.

To end the event, Kayleigh handed out goody bags to all attendees, which had some lovely little gifts including a little something from Lush. #Scoutshonour2014 was well attended and a great success for Kayleigh and Angela.

Bloggers attended: Kloe, Nicola, Aimee, Katie, Chloe, Rachel, Sarah, Lisa, Dani, Claire, Hannah, Sophie, Shannon, Emily, Beca, and Becca - go check out their slice of the internet.
